The Los Angeles Chargers will be without their playmaking DE Joey Bosa on Sunday. He was in a walking boot today in practice.
It went from MAYBE to ALL THE WAY OUT. Joey Bosa is not going to be on the field on Sunday to open up the season. He has been bothered with a foot injury and was seen in a walking boot today.
He was limited in practice on Wednesday and he has not practiced in the last couple of days. Now we just wonder how serious is this injury? How long will Bosa be out? He has been out of the last few preseason games and now is missing the first week of the season.
Joey Bosa is officially listed as “week to week.
#Chargers DE Joey Bosa, who did not participate in practice today while wearing a walking boot, is out for Sunday’s game with a foot injury. Not ideal.

With Bosa out of the lineup, the team will rely on Isaac Rochell and Chris Landrum up front. They will line up opposite of Melvin Ingram on the defensive front. That is a big blow on the Chargers defense with a big matchup starting the year.
If the Chargers are going to make a push to the playoffs, Bosa will be a key contributor on defense. He makes everyone else on the defense better with his presence on the field. He takes away blockers from Melvin Ingram and his pressures force the quarterbacks to make some poor choices.
With Bosa on the field, Gus Bradley didn’t have to dial up the blitz much and it allowed the team to have one of the top passing defenses last year. We will need some big plays from the guys up front and it will be up to Rochell to make us forget that Bosa is sitting on the sideline with a baseball cap on.
How bad is this injury though?
