Which Kicker Do You Keep Now: Aguayo or Sturgis?

I wanted this to be an easy decision! I wanted the Los Angeles Chargers (first time writing in a minute… and accidentally wrote San Diego) to have this battle decided long ago. I wanted one of the kickers to flop and we could easily go with one of them. I also wanted to see more of them in the preseason, but we had to deal with Cardale Jones flopping around all over the wrong side of the field.

If I had to quickly make a gut choice, I would go with Caleb Sturgis. He is more proven in the league and doesn’t come with the stigma of sucking! It should have been that easy! The one miss in the preseason did come from Sturgis though!

We ended today’s game with a field goal. It came down to the final seconds, just like we did all of last season and this time we walked away with a celebration. What the heck!?!?

Now do we go with Roberto Aguayo? I was rooting for him throughout the preseason and he performed, but I still can’t help but get nervous anytime we line up for a field goal. All of last season and then the ghost of Nate Kaeding gives me a scare!

What would you do?

I want to believe that we will go with Sturgis, but my gut thinks that Coach Lynn likes to go with the upside and the underdog. I am thinking that we go with Aguayo after cuts.

What are your thoughts? Who do you keep? There is no way we keep both of them though as some people seem to suggest!
