Philip Rivers and the Los Angeles Chargers travel to Kansas City to face Alex Smith and the Chiefs on Saturday Night Football. Chat with other Chargers fans on the open thread while watching the game.

Oh man, what a BIG game this is. And it’s crazy to think that the Chargers were almost out of this thing a few weeks ago.

The Chargers and Chiefs, both tied for first in the AFC West at 7-6, face off for the second time this season. The Chiefs already beat the Chargers earlier in the year 24-10, which has been the Chargers’ only loss by more than one score. Kansas City currently holds the tiebreaker over the Bolts.

However, the Chargers, who began their season 0-4, have won four straight going into this game, and the Chiefs have lost six of their last eight games after starting the season 5-0.

Let’s check out the team’s inactives for Saturday:

Chargers CB Casey Hayward (calf) was the only player listed as questionable going into this one, and he is active. Everyone else on the list above are healthy scratches.

As for the Chiefs, center Mitch Morse is out for the year after being placed on injured reserve. Also, CB Phillip Gaines is out. Pro Bowl CB Marcus Peters is back after missing last week’s game due to a suspension (coach’s decision)

The Chargers have a chance at winning the division for the first time since the 2009 season. If they want to accomplish that goal, they must beat a struggling but still talented Chiefs team.

Let the games begin!
