The Philadelphia Eagles will make a trip to Los Angeles in Week 4 of the 2017 season.
It’s a rare matchup for the Chargers, who face the NFC East in inter-conference games this season. The Eagles have not been to the playoffs since the 2013 season, and they will be hungry to change that this year.
The Eagles will become the first NFC team to ever play at the StubHub Center. This game will also mark the Eagles’ first trip to the city of Angels since a game against the Rams in 1990.
Let’s take a look at how the Eagles stack up in this matchup.
All-Time Series History
Chargers lead 7-4 and have won the last two meetings. This will be the Eagles’ first road game against the Chargers since November 2009.
Philadelphia Eagles 2017 Draft
Round 1: Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee
Round 2: Sidney Jones, CB, Washington
Round 3: Rasul Douglas, CB, West Virginia
Round 4: Mack Hollins, WR, North Carolina
Round 4: Donnel Pumphrey, RB, San Diego State
Round 5: Shelton Gibson, WR, West Virginia
Round 5: Nathan Gerry, LB, Nebraska
Round 6: Elijah Qualls, DT, Washington
The Eagles clearly wanted to address the secondary, taking cornerbacks with two of their first three draft picks. Against the Chargers, they’ll likely need the help in the defensive backfield as Philip Rivers could have a field day in the sunny California weather, airing the ball out against the Eagles.
Chargers fans will also be familiar with the name Donnel Pumphrey, who is the NCAA’s all-time leading rusher after playing for the Aztecs of San Diego State.
