ALMOST! But, The Heartbreak Continues, & So Do The Injuries

I think we all knew the Chargers were going to lose this one, but I don’t think anyone saw this game coming. The Packers are THAT good, I will tell you that. I can’t BEGIN to give enough credit to the defensive & offensive lines today. In fact, anyone except for Brandon flowers is good in my book, because he continues to have the worst season of his career after a huge paycheck. That puts him in the same boat as the Donalds, in my opinion.

Brandon Oliver…. Welcome back. Danny Woodhead, you are blessed in this town. Keenan Allen, thank you. Antonio Gates, Malcom Floyd, Dontrelle Inman, Ladarius Green…. You da BOMB! Pretty much everyone gave it their all today. But, I want to thank one man, in particular.

Philip Rivers. You may have overshot Gates, and missed a wide open Woody in the endzone, but GOSH DANG did you play awesome today! You earned every penny, again. It’s a shame that you have to put up these numbers to counteract the abject negligence of your coaching staff. Once again, they were outcoached, and clueless. Calling draw plays in crucial situations.

Well, I wish I could have a warm fuzzy feeling about today, because we really should have won. Despite some very fixable things, from a player standpoint, we can’t give up on this season. It’s the bad coaching that won’t be fixed. When Keenan Allen has to tell you to get your offense back on the field, you are mismanaging your team. Injuries to Weddle, Gordon, Allen, and Perryman are just adding to the uphill injury battle. Today could have been a lot worse, but I know you guys, and “close” is not enough. I really hope you put the anger away for a minute, and just let these guys have a break for a minute though. They are tired, and if you think they don’t read this blog, you are mistaken.

At least Philip is in one piece, and there were no serious o-line injuries to report. Philip was a madman today! I am very thankful for him, because what a GAME! But, I know he is not celebrating right now, which is a shame, and everyone on the coaching staff should be taking that seriously.

Brandon Flowers…. What is going on with you my man? I hope I’m not reading an article about some secret struggle later on this year, and that you are just having a tough month. This team has already been through this secondary situation before, and we thought you were the answer. Whatever is ailing you, please get help. If you’re hurt, please sit. I know that isn’t the Chargers “policy” these days, but please do so if you are hurt. We want you to get well. Crucial penalties over the last few weeks have been killer. Don’t push it sir. We would much rather see you sit. And, if it isn’t injury…. GET IT TOGETHER SON!!!!!! We all know you are better than this.

Great open thread today you guys! Thanks for continuing to support Bolt Beat, and I hope it was fun. We have a great group of people on here, and I wouldn’t trade any of you for the world! You ARE the best, and I am proud to take my Charger medicine with you all. Guys & gals alike.

Until next week….. Let’s kick the Raiders asses next Sunday, and we will feel a whole lot better. Have a great evening y’all. And remember… if you’re drivin’ don’t drink… and if you’re drinkin’, don’t drive ; )
