The San Diego Chargers are looking to hold onto that last spot in the playoffs, but they will have to head out on the road to face the Washington Redskins. It is never easy for a team to travel from the West Coast to the East. They are coming off of a BYE week though and should have had plenty of time to prepare for the game. Philip Rivers has been playing at an MVP level and will look to tear up the Redskins terrible defense. Robert Griffin III hurt his good knee last week against the Broncos, but he will be prepped for the game and will look to score some touchdowns against the Chargers defense that has not allowed a touchdown in 11 games.

Chargers Player to Watch: Philip Rivers
Oct 20, 2013; Jacksonville, FL, USA; San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers (17) talks to offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt during the first half of the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at EverBank Field. Mandatory Credit: Melina Vastola-USA TODAY Sports
Philip Rivers has been playing at a high level and will look to put the team on his back on the road against the Redskins. He will look to control the football and drive up and down the field with his offense. He has plenty of weapons at his disposal and the Redskins defense has had its troubles making stops. Could Philip have his 4th 400 yard game of the season?
Redskins Player to Watch: Brandon Meriweather
Sep 22, 2013; Landover, MD, USA; Detroit Lions wide receiver Ryan Broyles (84) runs with the ball after a reception as Washington Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather (31) defends during the first half at FedEX Field. Mandatory Credit: Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports
Brandon Meriweather is returning off of a suspension for illegal hits he has delivered to players. He has always been a hard-hitter in his career, but there is even more attention that is looking toward him now. He came out with some statements on the radio that he will just have to take out knees and end careers with ACL injuries now. He will be one to watch.
Prediction:
Oct 20, 2013; Jacksonville, FL, USA; San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews (24) runs with the ball in the second quarter of their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at EverBank Field. Mandatory Credit: Phil Sears-USA TODAY Sports
The Chargers are on the road and have had issues stopping mobile quarterbacks in the past, but I think the Chargers will be prepared this time around. The team will come out focused and the offense will get the ball to Ryan Mathews early to gain a rhythm on offense. I think the Chargers will roll and then can put their focus toward the Denver Broncos.
