The whole roster isn’t put together yet, so let’s just look at who we have on the starting roster right now. Let’s start with the offense and we will hit up the defense in another post:

QB – Philip Rivers – this is a big year for Philip. We need to get him some time to wind up and chuck that football out to his receivers.

RB – Ryan Mathews – Will the China Doll finally have the year that we have been waiting for since he was drafted?

WR – Danario Alexander – still need to finalize a deal with the restricted free agent

WR – Malcom Floyd – M80 has been a solid target for Philip to rely o.

WR – Vincent Brown – 2 seasons and he has been bothered by injuries on both of them. Can he finally get out of training camp healthy and make an impact on offense.

TE – Antonio Gates – Does he have anything left? Some say his production slacked because the whole offense sucked. We need him to bring back that All-Pro form.

LT – Jared Gaither – right now he still is on the roster, so he would be the starter. Untold we release him, he is our starter.

LG – Johnnie Troutman – Troutman was drafted last season and had to sit the whole year with an injury. Now he is back and will get a chance to compete for a starting role. Right now, I think he had a decent chance to win a starting job?

C – Nick Hardwick – Hardwick is the only one on the line that is safe on the offensive line. There could be so many more changes made.

RG – Chad Rinehart – did well backing up Andy Levitre last season and will be familiar with the blocking schemes. He has to hold the edge for the starting job.

RT – Jeromey Clary – I almost put King Dunlap here, but I just don’t know. And that is scary as heck.

The draft could bring us two more starters on that offensive line. If Lane Johnson is available at 11, then we will likely cut Gaither and slide Johnson in over on the left side. If Johnson is unavailable, we could take Chance Warmack or Jonathan Cooper to play at left guard. Then we could go after Terron Armstrong in the second round. Eric Winston’s name still has been floating around also.

The Danario Alexander situation needs to be resolved. Danny Woodhead should find plenty of opportunities to contribute on offense also.

If the line can block…
