If Broncos Win ANY 2 Games Then the Chargers Are DONE

What a nice win for our Chargers last night!!! After looking at the standings we are only a couple of games out of first place with 4 games to play.

The Chargers need to win ALL the games to finish out the season to just have a chance at the playoffs. If we lose, we can call it done! Let’s assume that we win out the rest of the games, this is what the rest of the teams in our division would need to do for us to get into the playoffs:

First off, Here are the tie-breaking procedures for divisions:

1. Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs).2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.5. Strength of victory.6. Strength of schedule.(There are more, but we only need to go to number 4 for the tie-breakers in our scenario)– ESPN

The Oakland RaidersWe face them in the final game of the year and have to get that win. We would need them to lose one more game before that meeting so that we can end up TIED at the end of the season. Here is who they Raiders play in the final 4 games: Green Bay, Detroit, KC, San Diego.

If we end the season tied with Oakland, we would win the tie breaker based on “4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.” We are even through the first 3 tie-breakers.

Here is how it would break down for tie-breaker number 4: Oakland has played 6 games in the conference and has a 3-3 record (Buffalo loss, Jets win, Patriots loss, Texans win, Browns win, and Dolphins loss). The Bolts will have played 6 games in the conference and would have a 4-2 record (Patriots loss, Dolphins win, Jets loss, Jaguars win, Bills win, Ravens win).

The Denver BroncosWe cannot end the season tied with the Broncos. They would win any of the tie-breakers if they find a way to win ANY 2 games down the stretch. Their final schedule looks like this: Chicago, New England, Buffalo, KC.

First off, if Denver beats KC, then they would win the second tie-breaker with a 4-2 record in the division. So, a combination of a KC win and another win gives them the tie-breaker.

In common games, the Broncos and Bolts have faced the Packers, Dolphins, Lions, Jets, Vikings, Bears, Patriots and Bills. The Chargers would end up with a 4-4 record if they win out. The Broncos currently have a 3-2 record in common games and have 3 to play. If they win 2 of those games, then they would end up with a 5-3 record and win that tie-breaker.

The Broncos just needs to win any 2 games and we will be OFFICIALLY eliminated. Let’s hope for a Denver COLLAPSE!!!! We can only do so much on our ends, but we need some help down the stretch!
