The Enemy Defense – Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals are ranked 26th in Defense and 2nd to last against the run. Teams like the Rams, Falcons, and Raiders have run the ball down their throats. The Chargers number 1 ranked offense will have plenty of opportunities to feed to their stats.

Here are a couple of the defenders to keep an eye on:

DE Darnell Dockett – Dockett is a 2 time pro bowl selection and was an All-Pro last season. He is the star of the defense and it will be up to Brandyn Dombrowski and Kris Dielman to keep him off of Philip Rivers. Dombrowski needs to make sure that he can keep Dockett in front of him or Philip will be beat up AGAIN at the end of the day.

LB Joey Porter – The former Pittsburgh Steeler and Miami Dolphin has been selected to the pro bowl 4 times. He is known as one of the dirtiest players in the league and it will be up to Jacob Hester to get that lead block on Porter to open up the holes for Ryan Mathews and Mike Tolbert to run through. He has 10 tackles and has already force 2 fumbles this year. The running backs need to keep a firm grip on the ball this game. Let’s see if we can leave this game turnover free.

S Adrian Wilson – Wilson is a 3 time Pro Bowl selection and a 2 time All Pro.  He is an excellent athlete and has a nose for the football. He already has 2 interceptions this year. He will have to try and stop the deep passes of the potent San Diego offense.  The Chargers lead the league in passes longer than 20 yards and it will be up to Wilson to keep the play in front of him.

OVERVIEW: The Chargers have a high powered offense and look to take the lead early in this game and just continue building on it. This may be the game in which we get to see the potential of Ryan Mathews. He will be returning from an injury and the Cards have struggled to stop the ball carriers. If Mathews gets a load of carries, he needs to make sure to keep his grips on the ball and not fumble this game. If the Cards decide to stop the run first, then Philip Rivers will have plenty of room to hit the deep pass to Malcom, Gates, or Buster.

In the end, the Chargers offense is too talented for the Cards to stop. Expect the Charger offense to put up a lot of points in this game
