The NFL schedule was released yesterday and it brought a little excitement for the fans. The Chargers get 3 prime time games this year and get to close out the opening week with a game against the Houston Texans.

Let’s break down the schedule and assign wins and losses to a few of these games. Of course it is way too early to predict, but that is what we do. We don’t even know who we are drafting yet.

Anyway, on to the predictions and breakdown

Mon., Sept. 9 vs HOUSTON, LOSSChargers first chance to show to the world that they have a new thing rolling and they have to face off against JJ Watt and that defense. Who the heck is going to block Watt and the rest of the guys that Wade Phillips throws at Philip. Do we even have an offensive line yet?

The defense will have to slow down local boy Arian Foster from tearing us a new one. Who will be on the defense to stop him?

Sun., Sept. 15 at Philadelphia, WINOn the road for the Eagles first home game under Chip Kelly. The Chargers won’t have much tape to work with on the new Kelly offense installed with Mike Vick and crew, but they won’t have much tape on the new Chargers offense either.

Think that the Chargers will pull this game off on the road.

Sun., Sept. 22 at Tennessee, WINWhen was the last time the Titans beat us? I think they were called the Oilers than and played in Houston. Keeping that streak alive. Still don’t think their QB situation is any good and Chris Johnson might still be running in his early season don’t care form.

Sun., Sept. 29 vs DALLAS, WINChargers face the kabillionaire Tony Romo and Dez Bryant at home. The crowd should be big at the Q for this game with all kinds of Cowboy fans and Chargers fans. These games always come down to the wire and usually the best head coach wins. I will give McCoy the benefit of the doubt on this one. If it were Norv though…

Sun., Oct. 6 at Oakland, WINStill don’t think that the Oakland Raiders are good enough to get out of the AFC West cellar. It will be tougher playing in Oakland, but still thinkg we pull off the win over Flynn and the boys.

Mon., Oct. 14 vs INDIANAPOLIS, WINAre we going to LOSE?! Maybe I just say we win every single game on the schedule! I think Andrew Luck will struggle a little bit with a new coordinator. I also think the Chargers offense will be able to put up more points than the Colts.

Sun., Oct. 20 at Jacksonville, WINStill winning. If this happens, we would be 6-and-1! I must be losing my mind! All these games seem very winnable to me. If we do lose to the Jags, we all must wear mustaches to work for a week.

BYE WEEKGood time for a break

Sun., Nov. 3 at Washington, LOSSThe Chargers will have to try and stop RGII and Alfred Morris. We don’t do too well trying to slow down those mobile quarterbacks.

Sun., Nov. 10 vs DENVER, LOSSFirst chance at trying to beat on Peyton Manning, but he finds beats us again. That offense in Denver looks strong.

Sun., Nov. 17 at Miami*, WINThe Dolphins still suck. I don’t know what they do over there. Who is their quarterback? Their Runningback? Receivers? That team is a mess.

Sun., Nov. 24 at Kansas City*, WINI still don’t believe that the Chiefs are going to be that good. I don’t love Alex Smith as their quarterback and think we will still be putting heat to the Broncos. Might be the homer in me.

Sun., Dec. 1 vs CINCINNATI*, LOSSAJ Green beating us up all over again. He is so tough and the Bengals are scrappy. This will be a tough matchup on the road.

Sun., Dec. 8 vs N.Y. GIANTS*, LOSSWe get both Manning’s this season? SIGH. And we lose to the little brother as well? The Giants are a mystery team all the time. Who knows what you are going to get. Super Bowl winner or missing the playoffs? This could be their time again to rise.

Thurs., Dec. 12 at Denver, LOSSDang, I picked us to lose to Manning all 3 times! I am going to absolutely hate the Manning’s after this season. If my projections are anywhere close to truth, this game could be a fight for the top spot in the AFC West.

Sun., Dec. 22 vs OAKLAND*, WINAnother game against the Oakland to help us close out the playoff push. It sounds great to me.

Sun., Dec. 29 vs KANSAS CITY*, WINThis game could be for a playoff spot. We need the win and Mike McCoy pulls it off. PLAYOFFS!!!

I must be smoking rocks or something, but I have us pulling out 10 wins and I don’t even know who the heck is on our roster. I must be feeling pretty good today! 10 wins! Playoffs! Our schedule is cake, but I am sure other teams look at the Chargers on their schedule and think the same thing.
