At Least We’re not The Raiders…..

Kirby Lee/Image of Sport-US PRESSWIREHere’s the deal.  We are all extremely disappointed in the final score of last night’s game.  That includes the organization, the coaching staff, the players, and the fans.

We all have our fair share of issues with the game.  Those issues range from the outcome, to the officiating, to the final offensive drive of the game, etc.

The bottom line is that was just one game.  The Chargers are currently in first place in the AFC West.  An AFC West that was all but handed to the Denver Broncos in the preseason due to the signing of Peyton Manning.

The few media “experts” that didn’t choose the Broncos as division champs decided that Kansas City was the winning ticket.

I can’t recall a single media member that chose the Chargers to win the AFC West.  Not a single one.  I do my homework, so to speak, too.

Here’s the deal.  We are in first place despite the bitter taste in our mouths from last night.  And the good news is….. at least we’re not the Raiders!!  I don’t feel as though I need to expound on that any further.

Philip Rivers said in an interview on Chargers.com that we have already moved on and are now going to focus on Denver.  And why not?  What good does it do any of us to sit here and whine about the game last night?  It isn’t going to change the final score in any way, shape, or form.

I ask that you stand behind the people that are the most upset by last night’s game….. the players.

They are the ones that went out of their to win and worked their asses off.  They are the ones that were out there fighting to please all other Chargers’ “parties” involved.

The Bolts sit atop the AFC West with a 3-2 record.  Denver is in second at 2-3.  Kansas City is 1-4 while Oakland had a bye this week and is 1-3.  The Chargers are 2-0 in the division going into Monday night’s matchup against the Broncos.  It could be worse.  And it has been worse.

Go ahead and call me a homer.  Get in line and know that there are plenty of people in front of you.  Besides, I’ve been called worse by better people.

I’ve been blessed to talk with some of the players via Twitter and they are upset and ready to make up for it.  Our week 6 game against Denver will provide just that opportunity.

Thanks a lot for reading and remember….. at least we’re not the Raiders.
