BoogaP’s Top 10 Fantasy QBs of 2012

It’s the offseason and a lot of you are searching for news that just isn’t out there. I am included in that group that is looking for info.  I hit that darn writer’s block wall for almost a week.  I’m over it and today/tonight will not disappoint!

Although I am a terrible Fantasy Football player, I do know quite a bit about the NFL and each team’s players.  Why am I terrible at Fantasy Football, you ask?  Because I can’t help but take ALL Chargers on my rosters!  I can’t help it.  When my pick comes along I can’t justify not taking a Bolts player.  Call me crazy or other names.  But know, and I’ve said this multiple times, I’ve been called worse by better people.  Wink, wink. ;)  That’s obviously for the haters!

All joking aside, we’re all here to talk Fantasy quarterbacks today.  An honest list of the Top Ten QBs is actually quite difficult.  With the NFL becoming a predominantly passing-focused league, there are quite a few good signal callers patrolling the field of today’s NFL.

Below I will list MY Top Ten Fantasy Qbs.  YOUR list may differ quite a bit.  That’s why I have my name in the title of the article.  :)

I would hope that you would leave comments at the bottom of the article as opposed to secretly building up a certain angst about this list.  I get plenty of emails that “trash” my football knowledge, “homerism”, and writing ability.  I even get the really ignorant people emailing me stuff that include my children’s names in an extremely negative way.

As I have said before, all that does is reinforce the fact that you are STILL reading my articles.  “Thanks a lot for reading” is at the end of 99% of my articles.  I truly mean that, even to the haters.  I don’t expect people to agree with everything I say, think, or write.

Let’s get this train rolling.  Please leave a comment at the bottom of the article and tell me who your Top Ten Fantasy QBs are for the 2012 season.  Here we go!

10)  Ben Roethlisberger

9)  Jay Cutler

8)  Tony Romo

7)  Eli Manning

6)  Matt Stafford

5)  Cam Newton

4)  Tom Brady

3)  Philip Rivers

2)  Drew Brees

1)  Aaron Rodgers

It is what it is.  These are the QBs that I project to be in the Top Ten of millions of Fantasy leagues by the end of the year.  This is not a running back dominated fantasy league anymore.  Be sure to get your QB early.  You may be able to wait until the third round but I, personally, would not even consider that an option.  Get one of these studs early.

Thanks a lot for reading.

Agree on most, but Stafford is a little high and what about Eli’s brother? As much as I don’t like the Broncos, Peyton Manning deserves to be at least in the top 10.

    • BoogaP

Lots of good QBs.  I am not a fan of Denver’s WRs at all. I hear ya though.  But I’m not buying the Peyton Manning hype until I see him throw the ball in a game situation. We’ll see.
If Stafford can stay healthy, Megatron and Pettigrew will put up huge numbers as well as their QB.  The Lions running game is mediocre at best.  They will be forced to throw it.  If Titus Young would upgrade from pampers to big boy pants, the offense would be even more deadly.

I have never played fantasy football and I don’t even know how it works so I guess I can’t really comment.

  • tedipe1

I’ve never played Fantasy Football either & I would be just like you Booga & pick all Chargers! #LoveMyTeam

  • BigVinRules

I’m with you on your QBs with one exception. As much as I hate him Peyton’s giant head has to be in the 10 spot and Big Ben gets to go play in the street.
Drafting a QB in the third round is a great idea. I sure wouldn’t wait any longer.

@BigVinRules Peyton was a top 10 QB we don’t know what he is this year until he’s battle tested he may end up number 1 or 32 I curious to see

    • BoogaP

Thx bro! Great comment.  I really had a tough time with ths one because the league truly does have a bunch of good QBs now-a-days.

    My Top ten
    10.  Big ben/Andy Dalton
      9.  Matt Stafford
      8.  Joe Flacco
      7. “SuperCam” Newton
      6.  Matt Schaub
      5.  Micheal Vick
      4.  Drew Brees
      3.  Phillip Rivers
      2.  Aaron Rogers
      1.  Tom Brady

    • BoogaP

Nice List buddy.  Flacco thinks he’s the best QB in the league.  I’m not that impressed with him.  Cannon of an arm but doesn’t seem to have any other great attributes besides the occasional killer mustache.
Schaub’s health is all that kept him off of my list.  The Texans are a HUGE threat this year.
My thinking on Dalton is that he will hit his sophomore slump face first, so to speak.

@BoogaP Ya id prob put dalton at #11.

  • CallyUlrich

Ok here goes my top ten FF QB’s
    10 Big Ben
    9 Eli Manning
    8 Tony Romo
    7 Michael Vick
    6 Matt Stafford
    5 Cam Newton
    4 Phillip Rivers
    3 Drew Brees
    2 Tom Brady
    1 Aaron Rogers

    • BoogaP

@CallyUlrich I don’t want to jinx another player into an injury (lol) but I don’t think Vick will play this whole season. That is the only reason he isn’t on my list.

Cally- Your list is very, very good by the way!! BoltUp!!

      • CallyUlrich

@BoogaP Wow Thank you! BTW Cutler? just typing “it” almost makes me hurl…blah!
