San Diego Chargers Have Had Trade Talks With The Dallas Cowboys

The trade talk will start early this morning!! ESPN’s Ed Werder reported that the Dallas Cowboys have had some discussions with our Bolts for a possible trade. The Cowboys have the 14th overall pick and could be looking to slide down. They are interested in drafting Dont’a Hightower later in the draft and this could put the Chargers in position to draft Alabama S MARK BARRON!!!

Can this draft start already!?!

We might not have to wait till pick 18 to know who the Bolts select in the first round. We could see us make our pick a little bit earlier AND that is all fine and dandy with me! Anytime that little jingle rings on the tele to announce a trade, my ears will perk up and wait to hear that the Chargers have moved up. Expecting too much? I THINK NOT!

Can we start thinking of Mark Barron nicknames yet?!

I will be soooo stoked if we land Barron!!!! Lets go Bolts!

Mike Mayock of NFL Network has him going to KC at #11. Wouldn’t that suck if they moved up just to get him and KC steals him instead?

@RMainwaring if that is our target… there would be no way that we complete the trade till the cowboys are on the clock and know the player we want is there. Canepa has us trading to 10 to take Barron.

who knows? we could go after melvin ingram who should be around that range.

If he’s smart he waits until Dallas’ pick to pull the trigger on the deal.  If your man can be had at 18, giving up the picks to Dallas is counter productive.

@RussellGrant I have to agree with you Russell. I think Chargers should just stay put and see who is available. I can’t see giving up picks to try to get a guy that will probably be gone anyway. I want Melvin Ingram or Nick Perry.

@ Russellgrant; I’d welcome Barron or Harrison it’s all a question on who was the better aquisition Bigby Atari or Jarret Johnson. The better fit is for the questionable players spot to be filled. The thing I like most in a safety is Football IQ and sure handed tackling. I even like the thought of trading down to get a late 1st and two 2nds if it will fill our defense better.  That would give us 3 defensive players before round 3 where James or Hillman might be. There are some solid 2nd rounders that might produce as well as any highly sot after 1st. And we need solid play at a few defensive positions. I’d like our defense to be alot better in other words. Then 4- 7 we can play with OT,G or OLB.

I’ve seen so many players that weren’t all they were cracked up to be or they leave us when their just getting in stride. I see the question not as whether Barron is great or good but is it worth giving up our 1st + another round that might give us a Gates or Dielman. Scouting is done so you don’t have to give up picks but gain a few if possible. I would rather trade down and get better odds than trade up and have all my eggs in a basket that might get a tear in training camp. If you had to ask yourself barron, or Harrison, Wagner and a trumaine Johnson which would you do?
