The LA Chargers are heading into a huge Week 3 game on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs. While nothing this early in the season is a must-win, it would be massive if the team went into Arrowhead Stadium and defeated the Chiefs.
The Chargers always seem to play the Chiefs close and went 1-1 against them last season. Granted, the reserves played in the second game for Kansas City but the Bolts still took KC to overtime in Justin Herbert's first career start.
Herbert now has 17 games under his belt and is going to look to establish a winning career record against the Chiefs. Here are three bold predictions in his attempt of doing so.
3 bold predictions for the LA Chargers Week 3 showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs:
1. Keenan Allen, Mike Williams and Austin Ekeler all score touchdowns
The Chiefs do not have a defense to right home about and the LA Chargers are due for a big scoring game. The team has been able to move the ball quite well but has bene unable to be clinical where it matters most: the redzone.
Most of it is bad luck and the Chargers are due to move towards the mean, which means the team is due for an efficient game in the red zone.
We don't need to tell you how good Keenan Allen is and that he should be able to get open all game against Kansas City's secondary. We also probably don't need to tell you about the fact that Mike Williams has been the biggest standout player on the team and really does have a big role. We don't need to tell you that Austin Ekeler is one of the best dual-threat running backs in the league.
The Chiefs are not good at stopping the run nor do they have a great secondary. I would bet on us seeing something special and seeing the three best weapons in LA all scoring at least one touchdown.
