2. Drue Tranquill: 11 (18%)

Drue Tranquill is an interesting player to watch on the LA Chargers. After a solid rookie season, many people penciled Tranquill in as this great breakout linebacker that was going to take the next step. Unfortunately, Tranquill suffered a season-ending injury in Week 1 in 2020.

This season he was viewed as the favorite to start at linebacker heading into camp and he was beaten out by Kyzir White. White fits into Brandon Staley's defense more and Tranquill instead has been asked to focus on special teams.

While White does deserve more playing time than Tranquill, it is surprising to see that he only got 11 total defensive snaps in this game and it was mostly when Kenneth Murray missed some time.

Tranquill is far from a bad linebacker and with how the game was going I am surprised that Staley did not make any adjustments. Dallas was running all over the Chargers in this one and at some point, you would expect the team to drop a member of the secondary and bring in more linebacker help, at least on early downs.

But alas, that is not what the team did and they have to live with the results. Would Tranquill have completely fixed the problem? Not at all. But it is surprising to see his fall from grace from being this incredible breakout linebacker (according to the fans) to someone who hardly plays defense.
