Defense: Chase Young
This one was a bit of a no-brainer and the matchup between Rashawn Slater and Chase Young is one of the most important of Sunday's contest. While it is unfair to expect Slater to completely neutralize Young, if he can replicate when the two squared off in college then the Chargers would be in great shape.
Young is the future of the edge-rushing position and is the best of the young crop of guys who have been adding their names to the elite list of names. As good as Nick Bosa and T.J Watt are, Young is the most promising of them all.
Young burst into the league looking like a surefire thing in the 2020 NFL Draft and he was just that. He was not just the Defensive Rookie of the Year but he was legitimately one of the most impactful defensive players in the entire league.
It is honestly shocking that he did not get any sort of All-Pro nod. The sacks may have been low, but the impact he had on the defense and getting pressure on the quarterback was massive.
Young would make the Chargers instant Super Bowl contenders. The team would boast the best edge-rushing duo in the league between Young and Joey Bosa and would be playing for a coach in Brandon Staley who has maximized edge rushers the best.
This one may have been a bit of a no-brainer but there are still plenty of talented members of this Washington defense that the Chargers have to watch out for.
