3. TE Gerald Everett
Maybe an outside-of-the-box option here, but tight end was a big disappointment in 2021 for the Chargers and now they've got one of the more athletic tight ends in the league rostered in Gerald Everett.
What Justin Herbert needs more than anything this season is for his receiving options to be plentiful and reliable. They had a major dropping problem last year, and now the team is opting to head into 2022 without any major additions to the receiving core that they could have added through free agency and the draft.
No Mike Gesicki. No Zach Ertz. No Treylon Burks. No Chris Olave or any other high-profile receiver from the last draft class.
Keenan Allen had a drops issue last year with the workload piling up on him thanks to the lack of depth.
Gerald Everett needs to establish himself as another major depth piece of this Chargers offense. Now he's got the best quarterback that's ever thrown to him at his disposal. He's clearly athletic enough to play up to Herbert's level.
I really want to see Everett break out this year. He's going to have to as the third/fourth receiving option.
