Damon Lloyd, LB
Damon Lloyd signed as an undrafted free agent following the 2021 NFL Draft and thus far most of the UDFAs that signed at the same time as him are no longer on the roster.
Michael Bandy was released on Monday, Matt Seybert was released on Tuesday and the lone player that is still standing with Lloyd is Yarbary, who we mentioned will probably stick around for preseason Week 3 before ultimately getting cut.
There is just too much depth at the linebacker position and nowhere for Lloyd to really play. Kenneth Murray, Drue Tranquill and Kyzir White are going to be a really good trio this season and there are decent depth options behind them.
Nick Niemann was taken in the 2021 NFL Draft and he is not going to be cut. Cole Christiansen is a better depth option and special teams player and Amen Ogbongbemiga is freakishly athletic and will probably make the roster for his impact on special teams alone.
Lloyd is the odd man out and with both Tranquill and White playing in the preseason, albeit in a reduced capacity, there really is no need for this deep of a linebacker room past the second preseason game of the year.
