4. Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos
You could definitely flip-flop these two rankings as Russell Wilson has not been at his best over the last season and a half. However, at his best, he is still slightly better than Burrow but if Burrow gets better then he will usurp Wilson on this list.
Wilson still had a better QBR than Burrow and he was playing on an uninspired Seahawks team. If Wilson was on the Bengals last season then they probably go on the same run. Some may rank Wilson higher, but because of his last year and a half, he ranks fifth.
3. Justin Herbert, LA Chargers
I get it, you wanted to see Justin Herbert ranked no. 1 on this list. When it really boils down to it, the first three players on this list are all interchangeable and the gap between the three is so small. Each of the three can be the best quarterback on the planet on any given day.
However, the numbers ever so slightly favor no. 2 and no. 1 on this list. Not getting to see Herbert in the playoffs does slightly hurt his stock, even if it is not his fault.
Again, there is a razor-blade difference between Justin Herbert and the top two quarterbacks in the AFC and ranking him no. 1 is absolutely justified. By the end of the 2022 season, Justin Herbert may very well be the consensus no. 1 and the league MVP.
