3. Kansas City Chiefs — Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Darrel Williams, Jerick McKinnon, Darwin Thompson

Any Chiefs fans that stumble across this article are likely not going to like this ranking but it is the truth of the situation. All of the running back rooms are talented in the AFC West and when it really comes down to it, the Chiefs are the third-most talented.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire is entering his second season and does have a ton of potential. That being said, he does get the positive rub of being a Chief that causes everyone to overrate him.

Football fans sometimes look at players through the lens of fantasy football and that has benefited Edwards-Helaire. He is a good running back, don't get me wrong, but we need to pump the brakes on comparing him to some of the best running backs in the game.

The depth behind him really is not that great either. Darrel Williams is a serviceable running back but he is not someone who is irreplaceable as a depth option. Jerick McKinnon is not the same young running back with potential that he was pre-injuries and Darwin Thompson is a practice squad guy.

Perhaps Edwards-Helaire proves me wrong and plays like one of the elite running backs in the league next season.
