2. LA Chargers
Joey Bosa might be the best singular edge rusher in the division but I cannot rank the LA Chargers no. 1 on the list. As easy as it would be to be a homer and expect big things out of the other options in LA, there is simply too much unknown compared to the no. 1 team on this list.
Bosa is elite and he is going to have a career year in 2021. Brandon Staley has maximized every single elite edge rusher that he has coached in his career and Bosa should be no different.

And even if Bosa is not having the kind of impact on the box score that you want to see he is going to be opening up things for other players on the defensive line. As great as Derwin James is, Bosa is the most important player on the defense.
It is the other side of the defensive line that is up in the air. Uchenna Nwosu was expected to start at the other outside linebacker spot and while he will play a big role, he has not necessarily turned heads during camp.
He is going to be splitting snaps with Kyler Fackrell, who is a fine edge-rushing option but is not the most exciting player. Chris Rumph has potential and has been taken in under Joey Bosa's wing but he is too raw to expect too much out of this early on.
The unit will still be really good as it is led by someone with legitimate Defensive Player of the Year potential. But it is not no.1 in the division.
