With the 121st pick in this LA Chargers mock draft, the Bolts select Jake Ferguson, TE, Wisconsin

The LA Chargers are going to have to bring in some tight end help this offseason. Jared Cook and Stephen Anderson are both free agents and the Bolts can bring Donald Parham back on a minimum contract as an exclusive rights free agent.

Cook probably should not be brought back and you cannot blame Anderson for pursuing a bigger role with a different team if the opportunity presents itself. Parham and McKitty is a good start for the tight end room but the team is going to need to bring in another pass-catching threat.

After signing Williams to a big deal, the Chargers are unlikely to spend big on a tight end. The tight end market is projecting to be very expensive this offseason so the chances of the team pursuing a tight end in the draft instead seems high.

Ferguson is an appealing option for the Chargers because of his ability in short-yardage and red-zone situations. His college numbers are not the most eye-popping but he did not play in the most pass-friendly offense and he has the traits to be a target for Justin Herbert.

Ferguson is also really intriguing because of his versatility as a tight end. He not only lined up at fullback in college, which Anderson did as well but also played some snaps in the slot as well. That versatility is only going to create more chances for Ferguson on the Chargers.
