4. Darian Kinnard, RT, Kentucky

If the LA Chargers instead want to go the right tackle route then the most logical selection for the team to make is Kentucky's Darian Kinnard. PFF actually mocked Kinnard to the Chargers in their latest 2022 first-round mock draft.

Kinnard is such an easy fit on the LA Chargers. The team does not have to take a left tackle and move them to the right side in order to keep Slater on the left side. Kinnard is someone who is already familiar with that side of the offensive line, which can make a huge difference.

Just look at Penei Sewell, who has struggled a bit on the right side of the line but was playing well on the left side of the line. If the Chargers want a rookie tackle to have the biggest impact possible then keeping them on their natural side is important.

Kinnard definitely has NFL right tackle size, coming in at six-foot-five and nearly 350 pounds. He is a bit raw and will be tested with the step up to NFL competition but his size and strength alone will keep him afloat as he progresses as a pro.

If the LA Chargers are in the business of building a long-lasting offensive line to protect Justin Herbert then this very well could be the selection.
