Most fans appear to be happy with the LA Chargers' showing in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Bolts landed arguably the best guard in the entire draft in Zion Johnson in the first round, added running back depth with Isaiah Spiller and Zander Horvath and added defensive reinforcements with three defensive backs and Otito Ogbonnia on the defensive line.

While the Chargers will always play it off like these were the prospects they wanted all along, there were some close calls in the draft in which a really solid prospect almost fell to the Chargers in a specific round. Chances are that if these prospects did indeed fall to the Bolts that Tom Telesco and Brandon Staley would have taken them, changing the draft completely.

Here are 3 very solid prospects that almost fell to the LA Chargers in the 2022 NFL Draft:

1. Kyle Hamilton, first round

Kyle Hamilton was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens with the 15th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Hamilton was viewed by many to be a top-three prospect in terms of talent in this draft class but because of his position and not-so-great measurables at his pro day, he fell to 15.

The Ravens were never going to pass on him if he was there at 14 but who knows, if the quarterback class was better perhaps a team would have traded up here to take a quarterback, allowing Hamilton to continue to slide. I am not sure the next two picks would have changed, but that is all hypothetical.

If Hamilton was on the board at 17 then the Chargers most likely would have taken him. It was obvious by the team's three selections in the secondary that there was an emphasis in adding to that room and getting the best safety in the draft would have been too hard to pass on.

Instead of drafting JT Woods in the third round, the Chargers likely would have taken an offensive lineman in round three after landing the safety in round one. Speaking of the third round...
