The LA Chargers have already made the splashy moves of the offseason and now it is time for the team to address the roster depth in several areas. While there are still some starting holes that need to be filled, adding depth is still very important for the Bolts.
One of the areas where the Bolts are going to need to add depth is at edge rusher. The team has one of the best edge-rushing duos in the league in Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack but the depth behind those two is thin. Kyler Fackrell signed with the Las Vegas Raiders and Chris Rumph did not make a huge impact in year one.
The team could sign a cheap, veteran edge rusher but with starting needs on the offensive line, we may instead see the team target an edge rusher in the mid-rounds of the 2022 NFL Draft to add depth alongside Rumph.
There are solid edge-rushing options for the Chargers in the mid-rounds of the 2022 NFL Draft.
While there are some talented edge rushers in this class it would be surprising to see the Bolts use a first-round selection on the position after trading for Mack. Instead, the earliest that the team should pick an edge rusher is with their second selection in the third round.
Quite frankly, the Chargers can pick an edge rusher anywhere from round three to round five, all depending on who they rank highly on their board and who is available in certain rounds. With that in mind, we picked out three players who should be available in that range.
