Full Chargers mock draft if the team ends up trading Austin Ekeler

Chargers mock draft, round 4: Jakorian Bennett, CB, Maryland
Jakorian Bennett is someone who I have fallen in love with as a day three selection for the LA Chargers. If there is one thing that Brandon Staley loves it is athletic defensive backs that have showcased versatility and can play around the defense.
That is exactly what Bennett is. His technique is incredibly raw and he definitely needs to be coached up at the NFL level. But he showcased the comfortability to move around the defense and is one of the most athletic defensive players in the entire draft.
He probably would only be a special teams player in year one but this is the prospect that Staley cannot wait to get his hands on to develop.
Chargers mock draft, round 4: Ivan Pace Jr., LB, Cincinnati
While the Chargers signed Eric Kendricks to essentially replace Drue Tranquill, the Chargers still need to start building out a plan at the linebacker position for the short-term future. Kendricks could easily be cut before 2024 to save cap space and it is hard to see the Chargers re-signing Kenneth Murray unless he takes a cheap team-friendly deal.
Ivan Pace Jr. is not the answer by himself but he is a solid start to build out the room and prepare for the future. While he is a bit undersized to be an NFL linebacker, he was an incredible leader on the Cincinnati defense and showcases all of the intangible traits that the Chargers always seem to love.
He should definitely be a big-time special teams player and could blossom into being a true leader in that phase of the game before he gets his shot on defense.
