Four biggest winners from the LA Chargers splurging on talent

No. 4: Justin Herbert
Finally, with all of these defensive improvements, the person who perhaps benefits the most is third-year signal-caller Justin Herbert.
Coming off of his first Pro Bowl season, the golden-haired quarterback from Oregon has his most competent defense to date. Thanks to Herbert still being on his rookie quarterback deal, the Bolts have a lot more cap room to play with than their AFC West counterparts.
In 2021, Herbert set franchise records with 5,014 passing yards and 38 passing touchdowns. For a franchise that has featured three Hall of Fame-caliber quarterbacks (Dan Fouts, Drew Brees and Philip Rivers), Herbert has already made his mark with the Bolts.
If the Chargers can stabilize the offensive line, the sky's the limit for the young quarterback as he has already shown he can tangle with the league’s best.
