3. Morgan Fox AND Jerry Tillery

Perhaps the biggest objective for the LA Chargers this spring was to rebuild the defensive line. Rebuilding the defensive line was the cornerstone of this defensive rebuild by the Bolts after the team had one of the worst defenses in the league in 2021.

Khalil Mack was the superstar addition that the team added to the edge while Tom Telesco also made savvy moves in bringing in Sebastian Joseph-Day and Austin Johnson. SJD and Johnson were two of the best run-stuffing interior defensive linemen last season, so adding them to the fold made a lot of sense.

This left that third interior defensive line spot open and there has not been a single person that has stepped up and grabbed the role by the horns. Heading into camp, it was believed that Jerry Tillery and Morgan Fox would be fighting out for the position.

Neither player has really done anything in camp thus far of note to earn the spot. Tillery finally made some sort of news with a sack during Sunday's scrimmage but that was about it. Brandon Staley's comments on Tillery after said scrimmage were not too positive, either.

Well, at least there are some signs of improvement for Tillery this upcoming season. As it stands right now, though, it is hard to feel good about him or Fox at that third IDL spot.
