1. Who will start at right tackle for the Chargers?
The LA Chargers did not address the right tackle position in the offseason and that has some fans concerned. LA has done a great job of rebuilding nearly the entire offensive line over the last two years and right tackle is the one spot that has not been addressed.
Well, it was supposed to be addressed with Bryan Bulaga. We all saw how that played out as Bulaga could not stay healthy and was released. The Chargers could not have predicted that.
Regardless, leaving the right side of the line up to Trey Pipkins and Storm Norton is a daunting thing, especially when Norton was one of the worst right tackles in the league statistically last season. There has to be a reason for this decision-making, right?
The reasoning has to be faith in Pipkins. There is a lot of positive buzz around Pipkins right now as perhaps the developmental tackle finally developed. It is hard to find any other reason as to why the Chargers would not sign a right tackle other than faith in Pipkins.
Pipkins balling out is not a guarantee and Norton could very well win the job outright. Heck, if it goes really bad and Jamaree Salyer plays well, the team could even flirt with the idea of moving Matt Feiler to right tackle and playing Salyer at left guard.
Regardless, this is the one starting spot on the roster that is truly up for grabs and it could potentially have a massive impact on the team's success in 2022.
