Over a week's worth of LA Chargers training camp is in the books and fans are starting to get an idea of how the roster is going to shape out this season. There is still a lot that needs to be decided before Week 1 on September 11 but the foundation of the roster is taking shape.

Fans have been excited to see the new faces on the team both in the big-name players that the front office brought in as well as the rookies taken in the 2022 NFL Draft. There typically is a learning curve with rookies but thus far in camp, some have stood out.

Of course, a good first week in camp does not mean that each of these rookies will be amazing in their first seasons but it is great to see the positive signs this early on.

Here are 3 rookies who have impressed the most thus far in Chargers training camp:

1. Zion Johnson

The 17th overall pick has truly played like the best player that the Chargers have brought in from the 2022 class. Johnson was viewed by many to be the best guard in the entire draft class and he is proving those believers right thus far in camp.

Johnson has been far from perfect but he has proven in a very short amount of time that he belongs in this league. With some offensive lineman, you can just see it right away and you see it with Johnson. What is even more exciting is the fact that Johnson has been lining up against some of the best in the business and has stood his ground.

While expecting a Rashawn Slater-level rookie season is a bit unfair for the rookie guard, expecting Johnson to be an above-average right guard as early as his first season is not. It appears that is what the Bolts have with a Pro Bowl ceiling in year one.

Let's not forget that Spiller was one of the youngest players in the class and is only 21 years old.
