2022 NFL mock draft, picks 18-21:
18. New Orleans Saints select Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati
Desmond Ridder is QB2 on my board and I have him going to the New Orleans Saints. I do have concerns about Kenny Pickett in the NFL. Sam Howell and Matt Corral is enticing, but Ridder is the guy the Saints should pick. He has the most experience of anyone left at quarterback and was a winner at Cincinnati. Sure, his overall traits might not be the most impressive, but neither was Drew Brees's.
19. Philadelphia Eagles select Jordan Davis, DT, Georgia
Jordan Davis does not last much longer than Devonte Wyatt as the Philadelphia Eagles scoop him up to play defensive tackle on what would be a deep defensive line in Philly. With two solid defensive picks and another talented young receiver for Jalen Hurts to throw to, the Eagles could make serious noise in a pretty thin NFC.
20. Pittsburgh Steelers select Sam Howell, QB, UNC
Maybe there is a reason why the Pittsburgh Steelers signed Mitchell Trubisky. Perhaps the team wants the former UNC quarterback to help bridge the gap to another UNC quarterback, Sam Howell. The Steelers have made it pretty obvious that they are taking a quarterback at 20 and in the past have almost exclusively drafted players they have met with. They have met with Howell and Mike Tomlin even said he was "pissed" that he couldn't personally attend Howell's pro day (Matt Canada and others were there).
21. New England Patriots select Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas
Treylon Burks is one of the most exciting receiver prospects in this draft and gives the Patriots a potential WR1 for Mac Jones to throw the ball to. Jones needs some weapons if he is every going to blossom into being more than a game manager and getting the best receiver available at 21 is probably the way to go.
