2022 NFL mock draft, picks 9-12:
9. Seattle Seahawks select Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State
If Malik Willis is there for the Seattle Seahawks then I think they take him but I do not think Pete Carroll and co. are interested in a long rebuild with another one of the quarterbacks. Instead, it is more likely that Seattle gets someone like Baker Mayfield or Jimmy Garoppolo and uses the ninth overall pick to do something they should have done for Russell Wilson: build the offensive line. Seattle gets a franchise right tackle in Charles Cross with the ninth pick.
10. New York Jets select Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State
Garrett Wilson is WR1 on my board and there is a chance that he goes even higher in the actual draft. Either way, the New York Jets seem like the perfect landing spot for him. They have two picks in the top-10 so they are going to be willing to "reach" for him if needed and they obviously are looking for a speedster receiver that can make guys miss with the ball in his hands as they tried trading for Tyreek Hill.
11. Washington Commanders select Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU
Derek Stingley Jr. is perhaps the most talented cornerback in this class and when he is at his best he can be an All-Pro corner pretty early at the next level. However, there are some inconsistency concerns as well as injury concerns that push him out of the top-10. With a great defensive line, Washington bets on his potential to get their CB1 of the future.
12. Minnesota Vikings select Jermaine Johnson, EDGE, Florida State
The Minnesota Vikings need to build up both lines for 2022 and with the elite crop of tackles off the board, they instead turn to the defensive side of the ball and get a really talented edge rusher in Jermaine Johnson. If Khalil Mack was not traded to the Chargers, Johnson would have been no. 1 on my big board for the Bolts.
