After two days of joint practices during the week, the LA Chargers will take on the Dallas Cowboys at SoFi Stadium on Saturday night in the second preseason game of the year.

Ironically enough, there are going to be far fewer starters playing in the preseason game than were playing in practice. Both first teams got reps in the joint practices but as far as the preseason game is concerned, the Bolts are going to continue to be cautious and not play any notable starters.

That being said, there are still some key positions that fans should be honing in on in this matchup, especially after what we learned about the team during practice this week.

Here are 3 key positions to watch during the LA Chargers preseason game vs Cowboys:

1. Right tackle

The offense took some lumps during joint practice and it mostly had to do with the offensive line. Justin Herbert was getting pressured at an absurd rate during joint practice on Wednesday with most of the issues coming at right tackle.

Granted, the Bolts had to come up against a stout pass-rush that is led by Micah Parsons, but seeing the line struggle as much as it did was concerning. It was particularly concerning at right tackle, which everyone has circled as a potential hole for the Bolts this season.

There was some optimism that the team would see improved play from either Trey Pipkins or Storm Norton, especially considering they felt comfortable enough to not bring in a right tackle this offseason. However, this practice against the Cowboys showed that the team may still have a long way to go.

The starting job is still anyone's for the taking and fans should not only be waiting to see which tackle looks better in this game but see if they can improve from getting punched in the mouth during practice.
