With the 123rd pick in this LA Chargers mock draft, the Bolts select Coby Bryant, CB, Cincinnati
The LA Chargers still need to add cornerback depth to the roster after signing J.C. Jackson and land one of my favorite mid-round prospects with the 123rd overall pick in Coby Bryant. Bryant was one-half of one of the best cornerback duos in college football on Cincinnati last season opposite Ahmad Gardner.
Bryant obviously is not as good as Sauce but he is getting overlooked a bit with all of the attention on his teammate. Bryant is a good cover corner who could blossom into a solid CB2/3 with some time and right away, would be a good option to bring onto the field in sub packages.
The Chargers probably should still add a cheap veteran but having Bryant as the CB4 is a good position to be in for 2022.
With the 160th pick in this LA Chargers mock draft, the Bolts select Danny Gray, WR, SMU
There has been a lot of talk about the LA Chargers adding speed to the receiver room and the team does just that with its fifth-round selection, taking Danny Gray from SMU. Gray ran a blazing fast 4.33 40-yard dash at the combine and could be a better version of Jalen Guyton in this offense.
Gray has the potential if he can refine his route-running to turn into an every-down WR3 in an offense. In his rookie season, he will be the WR4/5 that utilizes his game-breaking speed to take the top off of defenses. That seemed to work well for the six-foot-one receiver last season, as Gray picked up 803 receiving yards on 49 catches with nine touchdowns in only 10 games.
