Chargers mock draft: Bolts trade back, pick up another top-75 pick

Chargers mock draft round 6: Devonnsha Maxwell, DL, Chattanooga
The Chargers have not fully solved the run defense but there was an improvement with the additions made last offseason. Now, with Morgan Fox likely leaving in free agency, the Chargers need to bring in a pass-rush specialist that plays inside.
Devonnsha Maxwell is by no means a revolutionary player but he is an interior defensive lineman that is suited to play DE in a 3-4 defense on passing downs. His holes against the run can be masked in a rotation with the team letting him get after the quarterback on passing downs next to Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack.
#Chattanooga DL Devonnsha Maxwell caught my eye against #Illinois. Had 2 sacks, couple of pressures, showing off his initial quickness and hand fighting ability.

Chargers mock draft round 7: Carlton Martial, LB, Troy
The Chargers are not expected much in the seventh round, ideally getting someone who can contribute on special teams in his rookie season and eventually blossom into a consistent player on defense. That is the logic for the team taking Troy's Carlton Martial with the final pick in the draft.
Martial is a bit undersized and does not jump off the page athletically but as the leader of Troy's defense, he showcased a high football IQ that should translate to the NFL level.
At the worst, Martial should be very coachable and should be able to make an impact on special teams. He likely won't ever jump off the page at linebacker like Drue Tranquill eventually did, but he can be a solid seventh-round pick nonetheless.
