With the 193rd pick in this LA Chargers mock draft, the Bolts select Tariq Carpenter, S, Georgia Tech

At pick 193 in this mock draft, the Chargers select Georgia Tech DB Tariq Carpenter.

Carpenter is one of my favorite late-round prospects in this draft and would offer a ton in Brandon Staley's system. Think of this Carpenter pick similarly to the Mark Webb selection in last year's draft.

The Yellow Jackets DB is a massive man in the secondary at 6'2", 188 lbs, and lined up everywhere for Georgia Tech last season. Carpenter played FS, SS, slot corner, and dime linebacker in the ACC, whilst occupying special teams roles as well.

Carpenter would do wonders in Brandon Staley's defense, and should definitely be selected if he remains on the board late in the draft.

With the 214th pick in this LA Chargers mock draft, the Bolts select Jeffrey Gunter, EDGE, Coastal Carolina

With their last selection in the 6th round, the Chargers select Coastal Carolina EDGE prospect Jeffrey Gunter with pick 214.

With Uchenna Nwosu likely gone, and Kyler Fackrell walking too, the Bolts will need one more edge rusher to compliment the likes of Joey Bosa, Khalil Mack, and Chris Rumph.

Gunter is a long-term development pick, as more are at this point in the draft, but his thick build, run-stopping prowess, and success in the Chanticleer's 3-4 system make him a perfect target to round out the EDGE defender room.
