With the 195th pick in this LA Chargers mock draft, the Bolts select Reggie Roberson, WR, SMU

It is a good idea for the LA Chargers to draft a depth receiver in the 2022 NFL Draft and in this simulation the Chargers select Reggie Roberson out of SMU. There are other receivers that might have a bigger impact right away but in terms of overall ceiling, Roberson might be the guy.

Roberson is a shifty receiver who was having a lot of success at SMU prior to tearing his ACL in 2020. Roberson was not fully himself in 2021 and that may leave some concerns for teams, which pushes him down to the sixth round.

If Roberson can recover from the ACL injury and play up to the ceiling he seemingly had before the injury then he has around a third-round grade. A team like the Bolts could be great for Roberson as he does not have to put much stress on himself right away and can ease into a bigger role at the NFL level.

With the 214th pick in this LA Chargers mock draft, the Bolts select Christopher Hinton, DL, Michigan

The Chargers are really going in on the defensive line in this draft. After taking someone who is more of a three-down defensive tackle, the Chargers take an interior defensive lineman who would really only provide help on run defense in Christopher Hinton.

Hinton is not going to make a splash in the pass-rush but as a rotational run defender, he would be just fine. I am not sure if the Chargers need him with Breiden Fehoko doing really well against the run last year and being a depth option, but PFF thinks the Chargers should double down.
