The LA Chargers have had a very exciting offseason and thus far and something that should not get lost in the shuffle is the fact that the team has one of the best quarterbacks in the entire league in Justin Herbert. Herbert has broken just about every two-year quarterback record and already has the best season in franchise history.

You could make the case that Herbert's numbers alone were good enough to win the MVP award in 2021 but two overtime losses kept him from taking home the trophy. While he was not in the conversation in 2021, he is already one of the most-talked-about MVP candidates for 2022.

As it stands right now, Justin Herbert is tied with Tom Brady for the fourth-best odds to win the 2022 MVP award over on WynnBET, coming in at +1200. Aaron Rodgers (+1000), Patrick Mahomes (+750) and Josh Allen (+600) are the only quarterbacks with better odds.

In reality, Justin Herbert should be the favorite to win the MVP award in 2022.

While anything can happen and a lot has to go right for a player to win the MVP award, on paper, Justin Herbert has all the makings of winning the award in 2022. Quite frankly, I am shocked that his odds are as high as they are at this point in time. He should, at the very least, be under 10-1. However, this is a great time to capitalize on the higher odds and potentially make some bank on Justin Herbert having a great season (gamble responsibly!).

Let's dive into the three reasons why Justin Herbert might already be a lock to win the 2022 MVP award.
