3. DeAndre Carter
DeAndre Carter is not the blazer that the other two players on this list are. Carter ran a 4.48 40-yard dash at the combine, which seems very slow compared to Goodwin and Fuller. However, Carter has explosive acceleration as his 10-yard split in the same 40-yard dash was 1.45 seconds.
While Carter may not have the top-end speed he does have the acceleration and there is also already reported interest from the LA Chargers. With that in mind, he had to make the list as there is a chance that the team is already in contact with him this offseason.
The reason for the interest in Carter is primarily what he could do in the return game. While Andre Roberts was fantastic for the Chargers last season, the team may be looking to get younger at the returner position. Not only that, but they also could be looking for someone who can contribute offensively.
Roberts is essentially a non-factor on offense and with the Chargers only carrying five receivers on the roster last season that is a big deal. If a team is not going to carry that sixth receiver then they can't have the fifth receiver be a zero offensively.
Carter is still an option to take the top off of a defense on go routes as well as deep posts with his acceleration and ability to turn it on. He also is a target underneath as someone who is talented at making defenders miss.
