4. Marcedes Lewis

This is a boring option and certainly is not one that the Chargers would make if they had any plans of getting rid of Everett. If Everett is going to be in town next season and Parham is not then this is the kind of signing that makes sense for the Bolts.

The Chargers have two routes. They could go big and get rid of Everett and bring in Schultz or draft one of the promising tight-end prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft. Or, the team can keep Everett and simply make a small signing to shore up the back of the tight-end room.

Or they can cross their fingers that Parham does not get an offer he likes from another team and comes back to the Chargers for cheap but that is far from a guarantee, especially with how the free-agent market is moving.

If the Chargers simply need a cheap replacement for Parham then a veteran like Marcedes Lewis makes the most sense. He is not going to demand a multi-year deal and while he is very far into his NFL career, he does provide value thanks to his blocking ability.

That is all this would be. Lewis would be a veteran to help teach Tre' McKitty and fix some of the blocking problems that the team had at the position last season.
