Mike Williams is the biggest-name free agent that the LA Chargers have this offseason. Williams is coming off of a career 2021 season with the Bolts and is due for a nice payday next season, whether it comes via a franchise tag or a new contract.

It really does appear that Williams is going to return to the Chargers based on his fond comments on the team and how Brandon Staley and co. have talked about Williams. However, as we know, anything can happen in the NFL and nothing is a guarantee.

If Mike Williams does leave the LA Chargers in free agency, these teams have the biggest chance of signing him:

1. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars are the no. 1 team to worry about when it comes to stealing Mike Williams. The Jaguars can compete with the Chargers when it comes to cap space and because they are so bad, they will be more willing to spend big on Williams in free agency.

The Jaguars have a lot of draft capital as well with the first overall pick. The team should look to build up its offensive line and other holes on the roster with the draft and the big-market item of the offseason very well could be Williams. Williams is the third-best receiver on the market behind Davante Adams and Chris Godwin so he is a potential target for the Jags.

Williams also has that Clemson connection with Trevor Lawrence. The two never actually played with each other but that is definitely going to be a pitching point by the Kahn family to get Williams to come to Jacksonville.
