3. Josh Palmer has been extremely disappointing for the LA Chargers

Speaking of players who have not played up to expectations, let's jump to the offensive side of the ball and dive into Josh Palmer. There was a lot of excitement around Palmer this season as many thought that 2022 was going to be a breakout year for the second-year receiver. We are especially guilty here at Bolt Beat for driving the Palmer breakout bandwagon.

And quite frankly, Palmer has had all the chances in the world to break out this season. His numbers were always going to be limited as the WR3 but with Keenan Allen essentially being out all year, Palmer had a big opportunity to step up in the passing game and break out.

Instead, Palmer has done the opposite as he has somehow looked worse than he did at the end of last season when he first started to make noise. Palmer and Justin Herbert have not seemed on the same page at all and Palmer has made a few key drops that have killed drives in their tracks.

Palmer's only good showing this season was against Jacksonville and almost all of that production came in garbage time. Outside of that 99-yard game, Palmer has made 11 receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown.

Even that touchdown came in an interesting spot as the Chargers were down two scores against the Chiefs when Palmer caught the fourth-down pass for a touchdown.
