7. Jason Verrett - 25th overall, 2014 NFL Draft
One of my boldest takes as a Chargers fan was my belief that Jason Verrett would've had a bust in Canton if he stayed healthy. There's no doubting that early on in his career Verrett could shut down any opposing WR1 he faced, however, injuries robbed him of his true potential.
Now you may be wondering why's he not better ranked on this list given the fact injuries are out of Telesco's control when selecting players. However, when the Bolts made this selection in 2014, the entire league knew Verrett was brittle.
Verrett struggled throughout his time at TCU with nagging injuries, including a torn labrum that hampered him during the pre-draft process. Telesco and the Bolts front office took the risk on the 5'10 corner, however, ultimately it didn't pay off.
During his time with the Chagers, Verrett's lone Pro Bowl appearance was overshadowed by another torn labrum, a torn rotator cuff, two ACL tears, and one Achilles rupture. Verrett's injury luck was the worst I've ever seen, and ultimately sours what was once a promising career.
