Bo Melton, WR Rutgers

Rutgers wide receiver Bo Melton is another offensive weapon that should be available to the LA Chargers on day three of the NFL draft.

A five-year player in the Big Ten, Melton was a team captain and made multiple All-Big Ten teams whilst playing for the Scarlett Knights. It's important to remember that Melton played on a Rutgers team that was constantly the laughing stock of the Big Ten, and he never played in an offense or with a quarterback that was middle-tier in the conference.

At 5'11", 189 lbs, Melton is another weapon with the ball in his hands, running a 4.34 40-yard dash at the 2022 NFL combine. A real open-field threat, the Rutgers product can leave secondaries in the dust, turning smaller plays into home run outcomes.

A plus to Melton's game is his ability as a punt and kickoff returner. He led Rutgers in all-purpose special teams yards each of the last two years and figures to continue to excel in that role given his speed and elusiveness.

DeAndre Carter was brought in to be the Chargers' primary returner, however, Melton can provide solid depth in that role.
