The LA Chargers are coming out of the bye week and are somehow more injured than when they went into the bye week. This has been a disastrous season for the Bolts when it comes to bad injury luck but at the end of the day, the team is still 4-3 and very much in the playoff picture.

Los Angeles is heading into arguably the most important stretch of the season, though, and desperately needs a win against the Atlanta Falcons. With two extremely tough opponents in the 49ers and Chiefs on the horizon, the Bolts risk falling to 4-6 if they lose against Atlanta in Week 9. Only 7.5% of 4-6 teams since the NFL-AFL merger have made the playoffs.

If the Bolts are going to get a much-needed win over a Falcons team that has less talent on paper then certain Chargers are going to have to step up, plain and simple.

3 Chargers who must step up to beat the Falcons in Week 9:

1. Joshua Palmer

Joshua Palmer is going to play for the Chargers in Week 9 after being activated off of concussion protocol and the team needs him now more than ever. Mike Williams is going to be out for the next month and Keenan Allen likely won't play after reaggravating his hamstring injury during the bye week.

Justin Herbert's wide receiver weapons consist of Palmer, DeAndre Carter and a bunch of practice-squad receivers. As the best receiver that is suiting up on gameday, it is finally time that we see that chemistry between Palmer and Herbert that was touted all offseason.

Fans were expecting a big year out of Palmer and outside of some garbage-time stats he really has not done much for this offense. Luckily for him and the Bolts, the Falcons are one of the worst defensive teams in the league with one of the worst pass defenses as well.

With no. 1 corner A.J. Terrell not playing, there is no excuse for Palmer to not have an impact on this game.
