1. Las Vegas Raiders
It is hard to deny the top spot of these power rankings to the Las Vegas Raiders, even if it is the last time that they will be ranked no. 1 all season. Chances are the LA Chargers will beat the Raiders in Week 4, sending Vegas back down to third with Kansas City likely beating the Philadelphia Eagles.
However, if they win then the Raiders will secure the top spot in the power rankings for at least one more week. The Chargers are a good football team and a win on the road in primetime would be yet another statement win for the Raiders, who have some good wins this season.
The team defeated Baltimore in overtime in Week 1 on a walk-off touchdown by Derek Carr. In Week 2, the Raiders solved the Steelers' defense in the second half (with some injuries) and were able to outlast Big Ben. In Week 3, the Raiders came back against a tough Miami defense and secured another overtime victory.
While Big Ben and Jacoby Brissett are not the greatest of quarterbacks, their teams still have really good defenses and the Raiders were able to score the ball. Baltimore has a solid defense as well and Vegas was able to score against them too.
There might be a bit of fool's gold in this one as they have two narrow-thin overtime wins as well as a not-so-pretty win over a team that just lost to the Cincinnati Bengals but that does not matter. The Raiders are 3-0 and they haven't played the easiest of schedules thus far this season.
The LA Chargers should take care of business and take the top spot from the Raiders. However, as it stands, Vegas is deserving of the crown.
