Receivers the Chargers should stay away from: 4. Juju Smith-Schuster
Juju Smith-Schuster pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes.
In 2018, Smith-Schuster emerged as one of the best receivers in the game. He wrapped up his second season in the league with 1,426 receiving yards, seven touchdowns, and 111 receptions. Nevertheless, once he received praise, his production cratered.
So far, Smith-Schuster hasn’t come close to that level of production. In 2019, as the clear number one option with Antonio Brown gone, Smith-Schuster racked up just 552 yards. He followed that up with 831 receiving yards in 2020.
It’s clear that Smith-Schuster isn’t the sort of receiver that an offense can revolve around. In addition to that, he also isn’t an ideal second option. At the age of 25, he still has plenty of time to turn into a featured receiver but will he be willing to stop doing the Tik Tok videos in order to reach his limitless potential? That question is too hard to answer but allowing Mike Williams to walk in favor of signing Smith-Schuster would be a disaster.
