LA Chargers: 5 players who may have already peaked in their careers

2. Linval Joseph
Linval Joseph is another free agent that the LA Chargers signed last offseason and he is another player who peaked before joining the Bolts. That is the nature of the beast when you spend on free agents that are over the age of 30 and something that the front office should have understood when they made these moves.
Joseph had a much better first season in LA than Bulaga. Joseph stayed healthy and had a very positive impact on the Chargers’ defensive line. While the team did not outright fix their problems against the run, Joseph did add a presence in the middle that was better than other players that the team has had in recent years.
While he was solid last season, Joseph has been better in the past and that is indicative of his regression with the Chargers. Chances are that he already hit his peak with the Chargers as well and he is a prime regression candidate for 2021.
Look, there is a reason why the Chargers only signed Joseph to a two-year deal. Defensive tackles do not age the best in this league and while he was solid last season, we have seen how quickly players can take a step back in this league.
Even if he holds up his production from last season it is quite clear he has peaked in the NFL.
