Outside of the best quarterbacks in the league, a prime window for an athlete in the NFL is rather small. Every year we see players who were fresh off of elite seasons start to regress. That is why there is so much playoff turnover year after year in the league.

While the hope for fans of the LA Chargers is that the team will play to its perceived ceiling, they naturally will not. Not team ever plays to the best possible version of itself because of said regression from key players.

And when it comes to the Bolts, there are certain players who have already hit that ceiling and will not return. We love to talk about the ones on their way up to that ceiling (Justin Herbert) today, we look at those over the NFL hill.

Shoutout to our FanSided sister site, The Viking Age, for the article idea.

5 LA Chargers who have already peaked in the NFL:

1. Bryan Bulaga

Bryan Bulaga’s peak came with the Green Bay Packers. While this is not to say that he cannot be a solid right tackle for the Chargers this season, after last season, it is safe to say that he may never reach the best version of himself that we saw in Green Bay.

Bulaga is on the wrong side of 30 and had the most injury-filled season of his career in 2020. Again, as long as he stays healthy he should be an average right tackle at worst and an above-average tackle at best.

But he is not going to be the borderline Pro Bowler/All-Pro that is one of the 10 best tackles in the league. That is what his ceiling was with the Packers and that ship has sailed. Bulaga is no longer that guy, pal.
