New England Patriots: Stephon Gilmore

Last year’s choice: Stephon Gilmore

The cornerback position is dominating the AFC East version of this article. There are a few players from the New England Patriots that could be worth taking but even with his age and after a down year (in which he was still a Pro Bowler), Gilmore is the move.

Gunner Olszewski is a really intriguing option as he was a Pro Bowler last season and one of the best special teams players in the league. His only touchdown of the season was against the LA Chargers, where he had a huge game.

However, his success likely had a lot to do with coaching and those around him than just him. While he was great, there is no guarantee he would even come close to the same production in LA.

Hunter Henry would be a funny option as he just left the LA Chargers but the team let him walk for a reason. Joe Thuney is not on the team anymore so Gilmore is the choice.

Gilmore is actually in a holdout with the New England Patriots and if push comes to shove, the Chargers should give the Patriots a call. Although it would take a new contract and that is likely something that Tom Telesco would not be willing to offer, anyway.
